Activities for Kids and Teens
Homeschooling is a family affair, and we want the conference to encourage and equip the whole family. Weâve put together sessions and activities for children, young adults, and the entire family to enjoy.
Activities for Children and Parents
- A family gospel message by Child Evangelism Fellowship is scheduled on Saturday during the lunch break for kids and their parents. Feel free to bring your lunch and enjoy the presentation!
- Patrick Nurre from Northwest Treasures will be offering the following parent/child sessions (children 0 â 12 must be accompanied by at least one parent to these sessions):
- Volcanoes, Volcanic Rocks, and Earthquakes
- The Dinosaur Hunters
- Rock Identification Made Easy (hands-on session!)
Workshops for Teens
We have a selection of special sessions to inspire your homeschool teens this year! Adults of all ages are welcome to attend these workshops as well.
- Do Something! How to Engage Life for the Glory of God (Daniel Craig)
- A Matter of Time â Why the Age of Creations Matters (Bruce Malone)
- Explosive Geological Evidence for Creation (Bruce Malone)
- Blind to the Obvious â How Intelligent People Can Be Blind to the Evidence for Creation (Bruce Malone)
- Discovery and Design (Bruce Malone)
Outdoor Family ActivitiesÂ
Spend some relaxing time with other homeschool families at the conference! The Linn County Expo Center is a family-friendly locale with outdoor spaces to play in. Families are encouraged to bring equipment for supervised outdoor play or even supplies for a fun family picnic!
On Friday evening, weather permitting, an English country dance will be hosted outside. Equipment for games such as ladder toss, corn hole, and four square will be available for families to enjoy. You are welcome to bring more game activities as well! Card and board games have been popular activities to bring in the past. Remember to label your items and take them with you when youâre finished so they donât get lost!Â
Important Note: You must keep your children ages 0â12 with a responsible adult at all times (not an older sibling). OCEANetwork is not responsible for unattended children. Children can attend one of the sessions planned for children with a parent (see above), accompany you to sessions if they are not distracting to those around you, or an adult can take them to the courtyard area outside.
