Hi there. We are looking at moving to Oregon, and are curious about the homeschool requirements. I understand that my kids need to take assessments at certain grade levels. Do they need to go in to a school to take the assessments? Thank you.

1) You notify your ESD that you’ll be homeschooling
2) You test your children at the end of grades 3, 5, 8, and 10 by August 15th and use a qualified tester. You keep the results on file to submit to your ESD if they request it (some never do, some always do). You do not need to go to a school to take an evaluation.
