OCEANetwork recently alerted you about HB 3624, which is a bill which impacts homeschool freedom in Oregon. This bill is scheduled for a Senate Education Committee hearing on Monday, May 5th at 8:00 AM.

The most effective way to make an impact on the bill at this point is to:

  1. Submit a written testimony, and
  2. Sign up to give a public testimony (in person or virtual) on the day of the hearing.

We encourage you to do both if possible and to act on this by noon on Friday, May 2!

How to Submit Written Testimony

Submitting a written testimony on a bill is easy to do. In your own words, you’ll respectfully explain why you oppose HB 3624 A and ask them to vote NO. (“HB 3624 A” is simply the currently amended version of HB 3624.)

How to Sign Up to Give Public Testimony on May 5th

Giving public testimony is powerful because it puts a real face and voice to the issue, ensuing that legislators hear your concerns and understand the impact their decisions will have on families like yours.

And it’s easy to do! 

➡️ Testify virtually or in person—just read your written testimony aloud!

  1. Visit the bill overview page.
  2. Click the “Register to Testify” tab.
  3. Sign up for in-person or virtual testimony on May 5th, 8:00 AM.

(If you choose virtual testimony, you’ll receive a link to join by video on the day of the hearing.)

Every voice matters! Let’s make sure the committee members hear from Oregon homeschool families that we want them to vote NO on HB 3624 to protect homeschool freedom.
