This free educational event is designed to teach the basics of electricity
and how it is generated at Bonneville Lock and Dam. It is geared toward
elementary and middle school students, but informative and fun for the
entire family.
Visitors will learn how different forms of energy work through hands-on
activities and films, and can take a tour inside Bonneville’s Powerhouse 2.
Families and groups will register when they arrive and
sign up for a tour time.
The event will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 10am – 3pm at the
Washington Shore Visitor Center. Participants can visit all of the stations
and go on a tour in about 1.5 – 2 hours. Stamp your Great Electrifying
Event Passport at each station to earn a prize!
Please note:
– Tours start every 15 minutes and take about 30 minutes.
– Registration closes at 2 p.m. ahead of final tour.
– Tours are limited to a maximum of 25 people.
