
Come explore Hopkins Demonstration Forest for our pilot Homeschool Day–an event designed especially for homeschool families/groups (but all are welcome).
Who Can Join?
– Target audience: 2nd-8th grade students
– All grade levels and families welcome
– Everyone is welcome, and this pilot event is FREE!
What to Expect
– A mix of self-guided learning stations and hands-on forest experiences
– Explore forest ecosystems, wetlands, and streams
– Visit the Molalla Log House and climb the Lookout Tower
– Try plant and tree identification activities
– Discover wildlife tracks, pelts, and skulls
– Learn about forest management and see it in action
– Express your creativity with journaling, art, or poetry
– Enjoy seasonal activities tied to Oregon’s forest

Date: Saturday, October 11, 2025
Time: 9:00 AM-1:30 PM (Check-in between 9:00-11:00am and go at your own pace)
Location: Hopkins Demonstration Forest

What to Bring
– Dress for the weather and outdoor activities
– Comfortable shoes for forest trails (some are steep or soil/gravel)
– Backpack with water, snacks, sunscreen, etc.
