SUMMARY:Mysteries of the Central Gorge #1
DESCRIPTION:Meet: at Starbucks next to Hood River Bridge\, 1040 E Marina Dr\, Hood River\, OR 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM \nLeader: John Hergenrather \nQuestions: 2john@hergs.com  \nFee: individual: $35\, family: $65 \nOn this favorite family outing we take several short hikes\, and collect cobbles transported 400 miles by Noah’s Flood and find petrified wood. In some places the wood is only charcoaled and we can light it on fire\, though it is claimed to be 15-16 million years old! On this trip students will handle “rock solid” evidence for a young earth and a global Flood as we discuss its importance for our faith and our confidence in the historical accuracy of scriptures. Along the way we encounter a variety of flowers and other amazing plants and animals that defy evolution. \nFind more info here!

SUMMARY:Kids Biblical Paleontology Day Camp
DESCRIPTION:Ages: 5 to 14+ years old with their adult(s) \nCost: $40/child plus $15 for additional siblings. Scholarships are available\, please contact John Hergenrather for details. \nAbout the Biblical Paleontology day camp: \nWe’ll discover how shellfish and marine fossils were embedded on the highest mountain tops around the world and why dinosaur remains are found near the north pole! \nWe will break into groups by age for further in depth study at science stations and answer questions like: How are fossils formed? Where have scientists historically found them? What about the “fossil record”? What are the differences between trace fossils and preserved remains? How do secular scientists determine the age of fossils? And what are the errors with these dating systems? \nYou’ll get to inspect fossil collections from Multnomah University\, Geologist Dennis Bokovoy and other amazing specimens! \nLastly we will experience a full-scale dino dig site\, unearthing evidence of the Flood of Noah and behemoth in our back yard\, and comparing our size to his! \nFind more information including a “what to bring” list here!
